AmblyoFix Leads the Charge as Amblyopia Treatment Expands in Digital Therapeutics

Our at-home vision therapy platform is gaining significant traction in the growing digital therapeutics space, offering an accessible and affordable alternative to traditional treatments.

As the digital therapeutics market continues to grow, AmblyoFix is establishing itself as a leading solution for amblyopia treatment. Our platform leverages neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reorganise and form new neural connections, to strengthen the underutilised visual pathways responsible for binocular vision.

The therapy includes 10 structured visual perceptual activities targeting key areas: visual memory, spatial relations, figure-ground discrimination, visual closure, and form constancy. These are delivered through engaging interactive games designed to stimulate binocular interaction and promote perceptual learning.

With competing VR headset-based therapies costing as much as $10,000, AmblyoFix offers an accessible subscription at $169 per month, making effective treatment available to far more families. As part of our social mission, we've committed 20% of future profits to providing free therapy for low-income and underserved communities.

Legally Blind Patient Regains Sight: A Landmark Moment for Our Team

A patient classified as legally blind has regained over 50% of their vision using AmblyoFix, far exceeding results from leading VR-based treatments.

In a landmark clinical result, a patient with 6/60 vision, classified as legally blind in the United States, has regained functional sight using our home-based AmblyoFix therapy. The patient achieved a 22% improvement in just 2.5 weeks, 40% after 9 weeks, and over 52% after 14 weeks of treatment.

These results significantly outpace leading VR-based alternatives, which typically show around 18% improvement over the same timeframe. Unlike traditional eye patching, which only forces the weaker eye to work and has just 50% compliance among young patients, AmblyoFix uses specially designed 3D glasses and interactive games to train both eyes simultaneously, improving depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and binocular vision.

Founded in 2019 by Dr. Faiz Rigi (ophthalmologist) and Amin Rigi (bioengineer, University of Edinburgh PhD), Eyesight Electronics holds one granted US patent with another pending, and was awarded the IP Hatch prize including a Panasonic patent.

We're not just improving vision. We're giving people their confidence, independence, and quality of life back. Our dream is to ensure no one loses sight to a treatable condition. - Amin Rigi, CEO

We're proud to announce that our clinical trial (NCT07240311) is now actively recruiting participants. Registered on ClinicalTrials.gov, this study represents a critical step in building the formal clinical evidence base for AmblyoFix's approach to amblyopia treatment.

While our preliminary results have been compelling, with individual patients showing over 52% vision improvement, a controlled clinical trial will provide the rigorous, peer-reviewed evidence needed to support broader adoption by eye care professionals worldwide. We believe strongly in evidence-based medicine and are committed to meeting the highest standards of clinical validation.
